Police have launched investigations into alleged cases of aggravated indecent assault which reportedly occurred at Masase High School in Mberengwa.

Reports indicate the school’s deputy headmaster, Anymore Gumbo, allegedly exploited his position and lured more than 35 boys into his office under the guise of offering academic help.

The boys, eager to please and afraid of disappointing an authority figure, found themselves trapped in a nightmare.

The breaking point came when an anonymous letter reached the Ministry of Education, detailing the horrific allegations of abuse.

In a statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating reports of aggravated indecent assault cases against the deputy headmaster of Masase High School in Mberengwa, Anymore Gumbo.

“A team from Zimbabwe Republic Police is currently probing the allegations and identifying the possible complainants.

“So far, one complainant has been identified. More details will be released as investigations unfold.”
