parking deal with the South Africans.
Harare police spokesperson Inspector Tedius Chibanda confirmed the investigations yesterday.
“We received a report from the city. The case is being investigated by the Commercial Crimes Unit,” he said.
He could not disclose further details for fear of jeopardising investigations. The city initially made a report in December last year and added new names early this month to the list of people of to be investigated.
Harare and EasiHold are joint owners of EasiPark, and are involved in a bitter termination row that is before an arbitrator.
Harare alleges that it has not benefitted from the deal as EasiHold has not declared a dividend since it began operations. EasiPark general manager Mr Pegias Dube is already on forced leave to allow investigations into allegations of siphoning over US$500 000 from the parking venture to South Africa.
