Corporate sector hails Zimbabwe’s UNSC election

THE corporate sector has joined the growing chorus of voices congratulating Zimbabwe on its election to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), describing the achievement as a testament to the country’s rising diplomatic influence and commitment to promoting peace, dialogue and international cooperation.

A week after Zimbabwe secured a non-permanent seat on the influential United Nations body, messages of congratulations continue to pour in from organisations across various sectors spotlighting the broad national significance of the achievement and growing confidence in Zimbabwe’s role within the international community.

NetOne, one of the country’s giant telecoms companies, has said Zimbabwe’s successful election reflects increasing recognition of the country’s contribution to global affairs and multilateral engagement.

The Security Council is the United Nations’ principal organ responsible for maintaining international peace and security and plays a central role in addressing global conflicts and promoting stability among nations.
