COSAFA CUP DRAW DATE SET… AS Morocco crashes the party

THE heat is on and the countdown is ticking! The 2025 COSAFA Cup is ready to explode into action and the draw is just days away!
The Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) has set May 21 at 11AM for the official group stage draw, which will be broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube.

Bloemfontein, South Africa will host the southern showdown from June 4 to 15, where 14 nations, including ZIMBABWE’s Warriors, will battle it out for regional supremacy.
In a sizzling twist, 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalists Morocco are making their COSAFA debut, crashing what was once strictly a southern African party.
Joining them on the field of dreams: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and of course, ZIMBABWE.

This year’s edition sticks to the 2024 format — with four groups:
• Groups A & B: Four teams each
• Groups C & D: Three teams each

The draw will determine who faces who — and who gets the dreaded Group of Death.
Will Zim dodge the Moroccan bullet? Or is a clash of titans on the cards?
All eyes on May 21.
