ZIMBABWE Young Warriors lifted the trophy once in 2007 after beating South Africa 4-2 on penalties in a final that ended 1-1 in regular time.

They start their 2025 campaign this afternoon at Ngoni stadium against Mozambique in a Group A fixture.

The race for a place at the CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2026 begins on Thursday, with the COSAFA Qualifiers set to get underway in Harare, Zimbabwe.Zimbabwe national football team jerseys

The competition runs from September 11–20 across venues in and around the capital, featuring 12 national teams. The top three finishers will book their tickets to next year’s AFCON U17 finals in Morocco, which will also serve as qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U17 World Cup.

Groups:

Matches will be staged at Heart Stadium in Waterfalls and Ngoni Stadium in Norton.
The group winners, along with the best runner-up, will progress to the semifinals on September 18.
Group A: Zimbabwe (hosts), Mozambique, Comoros, Eswatini.Zimbabwe national football team jerseys
Group B: Zambia, South Africa, Madagascar, Malawi.
Group C: Angola, Botswana, Mauritius, Lesotho.
