AMAPIANO artiste Madala Hits is turning to prayer with his latest single, Imithandazo, featuring Progress Sibanda and Mandie Mae.

The song explores faith, perseverance and the desire for divine intervention, with the artiste using music to express the prayers and hopes of people waiting for answers from God.

Madala Hits, born Arshad Mayibongwe Moyo, said the track reflects his personal relationship with God and his belief that some prayers are still awaiting answers.

“The song talks about prayer. It is asking God to answer our prayers. God and I have come a long way, but there are still prayers I want Him to answer,” he said.

The artiste said the song also extends beyond his personal experiences, speaking to people who are seeking answers to their own prayers.

He explained that the decision to incorporate both English and Ndebele was intended to make the song accessible to a wider audience.

“We used different languages, English and Ndebele, so that we can reach out to everyone,” he said.

The collaboration with Progress Sibanda and Mandie Mae brings together the three artistes on a song centred on faith and the universal desire for prayers to be answered.

Madala Hits began his musical journey in 2023, exploring gospel influences within Amapiano. In May this year, he spoke to B-Metro about Impilo, a single featuring King Adiza and Nator, which addressed life’s hardships, perseverance and the impact of xenophobia.

With Imithandazo, the artiste continues to draw on spiritual themes, using music to communicate experiences and emotions that resonate with listeners from different backgrounds.
