HIGHLANDERS captain Felix Chindungwe has dismissed suggestions that his time at the club is coming to an end after he was left out in the cold for the umpteenth time in the Chibuku Super Cup defeat to Ngezi Platinum.

In fact game time for Chindungwe has been drying up with each passing match.

He has managed cameo appearances if not totally left out of the team in cup and league matches.

a�?Ia��m still very much part of the team despite sitting on the bench for a number of games. If the coaches see it fit to field another player ahead of me then I have to respect that decision. The club is more important than any individual.

a�?My contribution as a senior player is still significant even when sitting on the bench,a�? said Chindungwe.

Asked if age was catching up with him with competition coming from young players such as Peter Muduhwa, the captain declared he was still as fit as a fiddle.

Coach Erol Akbay of late prefers the central defence partnership of Muduhwa and Tendai Ndlovu with Honest Moyo on the left flank and Tendai Ngulube playing right back.

a�?The decision to hang my boots is entirely mine and I can tell you that Ia��m actually looking ahead into the 2017 season.A� As long as I still give hundred percent at training then I still have a chance to play until I feel the time is right to retire. But for now Ia��m not going anywhere,a�? he said.

Chindungwe is 33 years old.
