Council introduces e-wallet bill payment

Masvingo Correspondent
MASVINGO City Council has partnered with ZB Bank to introduce an e-wallet bill payment facility aimed at easing congestion at council revenue halls.According to the latest council report, the facility would mainly benefit Econet subscribers and ZB Bank account holders.

“Consideration was given to the report of the city treasurer on the request by ZB Bank to introduce the e-wallet, sms bill payment facility to the City of Masvingo ratepayers who are subscribers to Econet as well as ZB Bank and ZB Building Society account holders,” reads the report.

Under the new facility, payment would be instantly credited to a dedicated City of Masvingo account opened        specifically for e-wallet transactions at ZB Bank.

The council said it hoped that other networks, Net-One and Telecel would open similar facilities with ZB Bank to cater for all ratepayers.
Masvingo Mayor Councillor Hubert Fidze confirmed the new development saying the facility was in line with the use of modern technology.
