Council steps up revenue collection to enhance service delivery

THE City of Harare has announced the intensification of its revenue collection efforts, commencing on Monday.
The initiative aims to improve service delivery for residents and ratepayers.
In a statement, council said as the festive season approaches, the demand for services typically increases as people spend more time at home with their families.
“To meet these rising needs, the council requires adequate resources, which will be mobilised through intensified revenue collection,” reads the statement.
“The revenue collection team, led by acting revenue manager Mr Alfred Guni, will be working alongside regional managers, district officers and revenue officers.
“This dedicated team will be issuing final demands, summons and warrants of execution to all defaulters.
“To ensure transparency and accountability, all City of Harare officials visiting premises will be required to present their employee identity documents. The council urges all residents and ratepayers to cooperate with the revenue collection team and to fulfill their payment obligations promptly.”
Council said by doing so, they will contribute to the improvement of essential services within the city.
