Zimbabwe positioning itself as a leader in cybersecurity

ZIMBABWE is positioning itself as a proactive leader in cybersecurity within the region, Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Dr Tatenda Mavetera has said.
Speaking at the national cybersecurity strategy validation workshop held in Harare to finalise Zimbabwe’s National Cybersecurity Strategy, Minister Mavetera said the strategy should serve as a benchmark for other countries.
She said to achieve this, the country’s strategy must be exemplary.
“We must ensure that it is a living document, thorough in addressing immediate needs yet flexible enough to adapt to the cybersecurity challenges of tomorrow,” Minister Mavetera said.
“The ambition is that this strategy will not only protect Zimbabwe but also contribute to setting a regional standard.”
“I want to thank all of you for scrutinising the provisions of the document and offering your perspectives,” she said.
“This document’s strength rests in our collective effort to be comprehensive, collaborative, and forward thinking.
“A secure Zimbabwe means a prosperous Zimbabwe. Your contributions have a lasting impact on the security and resilience of our nation,” said Minister Mavetera.
