MASHONALAND West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo has challenged councils to improve service delivery in line with President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030.

She said this while engaging local authorities in Sanyati district inthe Sanyati Rural District Council (SRDC) board room this morning.

The meeting is being attended by officials and councillors from SRDC and Kadoma City Council.

“Water provision remains one of the most critical services expected by our communities. Government continues to prioritise investment in water treatment infrastructure, sewer rehabilitation, and expansion of reticulation systems,” she said.

“I therefore encourage councils to actively seek partnerships and investment opportunities that support water and sanitation development.”

She also took time to warn councils against engaging in corrupt activities and encouraged them to computerise their financial systems.

“As the Government, we maintain zero tolerance for corruption. Corruption undermines service delivery, discourages investment, and slows development,” she said.

“Every stakeholder must therefore uphold integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in the execution of their duties.”

Minister Chombo is expected to tour Kadoma and SRDC projects in the afternoon.
