Tariro Kadandara (25) and Blessing Mupandauya (31) appeared before Mbare magistrate Mrs Elizabeth Chivangwe and pleaded guilty to the charge. They were sentenced to community service as they are first offenders. Kadandara and Mupandauya told the court that they are husband and wife with a six-month old baby.
The court heard that on March 22, detectives from CID Southerton received information about the couple’s drug business, went to their house where they posed as a potential customers, and were sold a bottle of Benilyn by Kadandara.
The house was then searched, leading to the recovery of three bottles of Salterpyn syrup, 6x100ml Benilyn and 12 bottles of adco salterpyn syrup.
