Couple robbed of US$8 000 in Zvishavane

A Zvishavane couple lost cash and property worth a combined value of US$8 000 last night after three armed robbers broke into their house, woke  everyone up and locked them in one room before demanding cash and valuables.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the robbers who had a pistol each found US$260 on the victim, Mr Takura Muwondiri’s house before they demanded car keys to a Ford Ranger double cab which was parked in the yard.

“They then drove away in the vehicle, a Ford Ranger double cab reg ADL3090. The total value of stolen items was US$8 000,” said Insp Mahoko.

He said police were hunting down the suspects who are still at large.
