A police constable stationed at Dangamvura Police Station is in trouble after he allegedly teamed up with his girlfriend to steal from her employer.

Blessed Zaranyika (30), who resides at ZRP Dangamvura Camp, and Tafadzwa Panganai (20) appeared before Mutare provincial magistrate, Mr Richard Ramaboea, facing theft charges.

They were granted $500 bail each.

Public prosecutor Ms Nyasha Mukonyora told the court that the lovebirds committed the crime on February 17.

“The complainant, Shamiso Mombe of Westlea was Panganai’s employer and on the day in question, the domestic worker and her boyfriend hatched a plan to steal from the complainant.

“They took advantage of the fact that Mombe was not at home. Panganai stole US$570, groceries, clothes, make-up kits, Brazilian hair wigs and some                                                                                             blankets.
