A COUPLE from Killarney in Bulawayo yesterday walked away with a brand new Honda Fit courtesy of Zapalala Supermarket.
Mr Bonface Makoni and his wife Mrs Sarudzai Makoni won the Honda Fit at Zapalala’s first ever live Mega Prize Drop Promotion held at its main branch between Herbert Chitepo Avenue and Leopold Takawira.
Among other prizes which were up for grabs were seven Cadac LP stoves, 3kg gas cylinders, seven bicycles and a four-plate stove. The overjoyed couple could not hold their excitement as they hugged and kissed in front of the crowd after being announced the winners.
“I am excited today. I usually pass by the supermarket after work to buy a few things and I had only bought groceries worth $30. I wasn’t expecting to win a car and as of now I don’t even have a licence,” said Mrs Makoni.
The supermarket’s marketing manager, Mr Jacob Chisema, said they started conducting mini draws on 14 November.
“The promotion is open to all Zapalala Supermarket customers. We saw it fit that it’s high time we gave back to the community and this is our way of saying thank you to all our valued customers who are giving us continued support,” he said.
Established six years ago, the retail shop started small but has grown big and currently boasts of 15 branches across the country. They aim to have 20 branches by 2020. -@lvydvy1
