The CPU had so far distributed food hampers, over 1 000 bar of soap, 990 fleece blankets, 1 500 blankets and 1 000 buckets to the affected families.
“We are on top of the situation and happy with the assistant we are getting from both Government and other players such as non-governmental organisations,” he said.
The Red Cross of Zimbabwe and the International Organisation for Migration have donated 130 large tents and 1 000 tents to the CPU.
These would be used to temporarily shelter the flood victims.
