Local land developer and civil engineering firm, Craft Properties (Pvt) Ltd, has announced plans to construct 15 permanent houses for individuals living with disabilities and albinism in Kadoma as part of its 2026 corporate social responsibility programme.
The initiative follows the company’s previous donation of residential stands to vulnerable members of the community.
Under the new phase of the project, the firm will move beyond land allocation to the direct provision of infrastructure, constructing three-roomed housing units complete with private ablution facilities on each of the 15 stands. Founded in 2008, Craft Properties has spent over 17 years operating within Zimbabwe’s real estate and construction sectors.
The company has evolved from a local start-up into a regional player in land development and civil engineering, increasingly integrating social welfare into its core business model.
Professor Kudakwashe Taruberekera, the Founder and Chief Executive of Craft Properties, stated that the project is a reflection of the company’s commitment to inclusive urban development.
“We are proud of what we have achieved so far,” said Prof Taruberekera.
“We look forward to continuing to build a legacy of excellence and contributing to the development of thriving communities across Zimbabwe.”
The Chief Executive, who has recently represented the organisation at international platforms including the Middle East Energy Conference in Dubai and various Artificial Intelligence (AI) summits, noted that the firm is increasingly looking toward sustainable and technology-driven infrastructure.
Beyond its philanthropic efforts, the company has maintained a presence in the sector by adopting eco-friendly designs aimed at minimising the environmental impact of new developments.
The firm’s growth trajectory involves further expansion into new markets while maintaining the technical standards that have seen it receive numerous industry accolades for land development and civil engineering excellence. As the real estate sector faces increasing pressure to provide affordable and accessible housing, Craft Properties’ move to provide fully constructed units to marginalised groups marks a significant shift from traditional land-only donations to comprehensive property delivery.
As Craft Properties looks ahead, it remains committed to its mission of providing innovative and sustainable real estate solutions.
The company will continue to expand its portfolio and explore new markets, while maintaining its high standards of quality and service.
