Craven raises stakes

TOP bowler Kerry Craven expects a good outing on the greens this weekend where the country’s best players clash in the Zimbabwe Clubs Champion of Champions tournament which got underway at Alexandra Sports Club yesterday.
Craven, who is the national team skipper, won all her three matches and recorded six points while Jane Rigby settled on four points as she played two games and had a bye.

“The tournament is going on well, my first day yesterday went well but I still have more matches to play.
“We enjoyed the greens. They were playing so well and I believe it is going to be an exciting and interesting weekend of bowls,” said Craven.
Olivia Hastings had four points while Ursula Gripper, Sheila Fraser, Crayn Sinclair, Jill Robinson and Debbie Robertson were all on two points.

The men’s category saw Roy Garden starting his first day on a good note.
Garden was able to register four points while Mike Eaton, Paulo De Brito and Alan Dykes had two points.

John Taylor and Richard Mukucha started their matches on a low note as they did not record some points.
“My first day was good and I am happy to be part of the event, it is a good competition,” said Garden.
