Cricket board to hold AGM

THE Bulawayo Metropolitan Cricket Board (BMCB) will hold its annual general meeting at Queens Sports Club on September 10, to plan for the new season and seek new sponsorship. Law firm Titan Law sponsored the league last season and it is not yet known whether or not they will renew their partnership. Newly elected BMCB chairman Vumi Moyo said the meeting would also discuss the league’s finances.

“We’ll discuss the league’s future as well as the financials of the just-ended season and plan for the new one. We’ll also touch on the issue of sponsorship because we aren’t sure if we will retain the same sponsor as Titan Law seemed to have had second thoughts towards the end of last season,” said Moyo.

Emakhandeni were crowned BMCB champions on the final day of last season after pipping Bulawayo Athletic Club by a higher net run rate as the two teams were tied on 36 points.

Roosters 1 and Queens 1 were third and fourth respectively.
