Croc kills woman

Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tineyi Matake,yesterday said the woman was fishing with her son when she was dragged into the deep water by the reptile.

“The woman was fishing when she was attacked by a crocodile, which dragged her into the deep waters,.
“Remains of her body were finally retrieved from the water by villagers who ganged up and managed to scare away the reptile,” said Insp Matake.

On the fateful day the woman went to fish with her 17-year-old son in the Ruti Dam along Nyazvidzi River.
As the pair was fishing, a crocodile emerged from the water, pulled the woman into the water and killed her.

Her son called the villagers who teamed up and scared away the croc­odile.
Insp Matake warned people against fishing in crocodile infested rivers.
