Crocker won the amateur title event with some good performances and that has seen him also improve immensely on the American Junior Golf Association POLO Rankings where he is now 20th.
He managed to beat several professionals who will be teeing off in the Zambia Sugar Open at Lusaka Golf Club this morning.
Eight local professionals including Ryan Cairns who made the cut and finished on 21st at the last Sunshine Tour event — the Royal Swazi Open — will be among those to look forward to in the event.
Cairns will be in the same ball with Ruan de Smith who did well in the last Sunshine tour events in the first and second rounds Ignatius Mketekete who did well in last year’s Zambia Open will play with countrymen Robson Saurombe in the opening round will be join Cairns.
Mohammad R Mandhu will play in the second ball early in the morning while Tongo Charamba will tee off in the afternoon. The numbers have increased significantly this year, which may enhance the locals chances as only six players took part in the event last year.
Tranos Muradzikwa, Greg Bentley and Micky Hough will also take to the field. Meanwhile, several players were crowned 2013 club championships with the most revered being the Royal Harare which was won by Garry Thompson after an impressive 220 overall after 54-holes.
