IVYLUCK College headmaster, Tafadzwa Chikohora, who is accused of deceiving three students who wanted to sit for the ZIMSEC O-Level November examinations, and stealing their exam fees, is expected back in court today for bail considerations.
Chikohora appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi last week facing theft of trust property.
The college offers classes from Form 1 to Form 6 but is not a registered ZIMSEC examination centre.
The complainant is Lucky Sibanda, who is the college director.
It is the State’s case that sometime in May this year, the college was entrusted with US$729 in examination fees to register three students for ZIMSEC O-Level November examinations at Ellis Robins High School, a registered ZIMSEC examination centre.
Chikohora allegedly converted the examination fees to his personal use and did not register the students.
He is accused of creating counterfeit ZIMSEC examination papers, which the students took to Ellis Robins High School laboratory.
After the examinations, Chikohora destroyed the counterfeit papers.
The court heard that the fraudulent scheme was uncovered when students discussed the contents of the examination papers, leading to suspicions that prompted Chikohora’s arrest.
The total prejudice was US$729.
