Cuba’s Foreign Affairs Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla will next month host an international conference on the “New Scenarios of Political Communication in the Digital Sphere — 2015”, according to a statement released by the Cuban Embassy in Harare yesterday.
A number of ICT experts and related disciplines are expected to attend the conference
The conference will run from February 9 to 11 at the Havana International Conference Centre in the capital Havana, and it will be held under the framework of the tenth anniversary of the World Summit on the Information Society.
The statement says that the February conference will be preceded by the experiences and recommendations arising from the first and second “International Workshop on Social Networks and Alternative Media” held in Havana in 2011 and 2013, respectively.
Some of the key issues to be discussed at the conference include the development of the information and communication technologies (ICTs) and their impact on international relations.
The experts will deal with the following general issues:
The evolution of the ICTs, their political use and their impact on international relationships, including recent developments in the international media scenario;
Cybersecurity, subversion and electronic espionage; and,
Internet governance.
