CUBAN President Miguel Diaz-Canel-Bermudez has sent a congratulatory message to President Mnangagwa ahead of the country’s 46th Independence Day commemorations tomorrow.

In his message, President Diaz-Canel-Bermudez recognised Zimbabwe’s firmness in its defence of national sovereignty and values, as well as the cooperative ties the two countries developed.

“On the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Zimbabwe, I extend our warmest congratulations,” President Diaz-Canel-Bermudez said.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to continue strengthening the historic bonds of friendship between the two countries.

Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla also congratulated his counterpart, Professor Amon Murwira, on the same occasion, expressing the expansion of historic ties of cooperation and solidarity.

“I extend my warmest congratulations and reaffirm our commitment to continue expanding our historic relations of cooperation and solidarity, Minister Parrilla said.

Cuba established bilateral relations with Zimbabwe on April 20, 1980, two days after Zimbabwe declared independence in Harare.
