CUBA’s National Bureau of the Young Communist League has called for the removal of sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by some Western countries, saying it stands in solidarity with its Zimbabwean counterparts.
In a statement directed to the Zanu PF Youth League, Cuba’s National Bureau of the Young Communist League said they ratify the permanent solidarity of Cuban youth with the people of Zimbabwe.
“The National Bureau of the Young Communist League of Cuba (UJC) expresses all solidarity with the Youth of Zanu PF and strongly rejects the imposition of unilateral coercive measures against Zimbabwe,” read the statement.
“On this important day against the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Zimbabwe, an initiative promoted by the member countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), we reiterate our support for the Youth of Zanu PF and all the brother people of that country.
“Young Cubans know the terrible effects caused by unilateral coercive measures, due to the more than 60 years of economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against our people.”
The National Bureau of the Young Communist League said unilateral coercive measures were crimes against humanity and violated the full enjoyment of all human rights including the legitimate right of peoples to their development.
