CUT student eyes Miss Heritage Global crown

Eva Mzondiwa

AS an Agricultural Engineering student at Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) as well as the reigning Miss Heritage Zimbabwe 2022, I believe I am a combination of brains and beauty.

Agricultural Engineering focuses on the industrial part of agriculture which includes farm machinery, mechanics, farm structures and irrigation systems.

It also involves water engineering.

I am more focused on the irrigation engineering part. It is a five-year course and I am in my final semester. I was crowned Miss Heritage Zimbabwe on April, 24 2021 and was set to represent Zimbabwe in Nigeria. Unfortunately, the pageant was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, I was given another chance to represent my beautiful country in South Africa on September 26 this year.

I will be battling for the Miss Heritage global crown together with 60 other contestants.

Miss Heritage global is a pageant that promotes culture and heritage. It is inspired by the motto “Unity in diversity” as it brings women from around the globe to showcase and represent their cultures.

During my reign as Miss Heritage Zimbabwe, I have had the opportunity to work with the National Museum and Monuments in projects promoting our culture and heritage.

I also visited different primary schools in my community teaching children about our heritage sites as well as our culture and ethnicity.

My advocacy is enhancing youth development through learning our heritage and culture.

That is why I have focused on young children as well as started my own online series titled “Lets Learn Heritage”.

I figured that most of the youths are on social media and it is more impactful to use such platforms. In preparation for the global stage we currently have a voting platform.

I posted my link on all my social media platforms as well as in my biography.

I believe I will be able to bring the crown back home as I have been working hard. And it will also be much easier if I get full support from my fellow Zimbabweans.
