Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) student Tanatswa Chinyama, who died on Sunday morning after being hit by a car while on her way to the campus from a popular local joint, was laid to rest in Hurungwe on Tuesday.
Dozens of students and university staff attended the burial in Chinyembere Village.
Her friend and CUT student, Webster Magaya described the late as a loving and caring person whose dedication to school work was unmatched.
Student Representative Council (SRC) president, Preston Paradzayi said Tanatswa will be sorely missed.
Tanatswa was a Level 2.1 student in the School of Hospitality and Tourism.
She was hit by a car while in the company of five other students. The other four sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Chinhoyi Hospital.
The accident occurred after the driver of the vehicle lost control and hit the students from behind near the railway crossing along the Chinhoyi-Chegutu Highway.
They had spent a night at Jongwe Corner where they attended the Zim Hip-Hop Culture event.
