CHINHOYI University of Technology student, Isheunoziva Zuze, has launched a set of winter designer clothing.

The 22-year-old used fabric and velvet to curate at least 10 different winter street-wear outfits.

The collection consists of designer dresses, jump suits, trousers and tops all adopted from the life of an eagle.

Dubbed ‘The Glider Fashion Exhibition’, the launch was hosted in New Mabvuku.

“The collection was inspired by an eagle, which is a great symbol of strength, determination and great focus.

“I also design street-wear to inspire young women towards gaining such characteristics in life to achieve success when running a business.

“The main objective of the fashion exhibition was also to successfully market my fashion products, showcase my talent and motivate other young women,” said Isheunoziva.

The young designer said she is already receiving inquiries about her fashion products.

“I had only made a few for the exhibition but have received numerous inquiries from fashion enthusiasts who want to buy my products.

“I am planning to run an auction where I will dispose of the first outfits and supply more as the demand grows,” she said.

She added: “I wish to help my fellow girl child, empower her and earn the skill and not to wait for formal employment,” she said.

The event was graced by girls and young women from Mabvuku and Tafara while Shamwari Yemwanasikana director, Ekenia Chifamba, was the guest of honour.

Examiners from CUT adjudicated at the one-hour long exhibition.
