More than 50 luxury villas are expected to be completed by March next year at the Zimbabwe Cyber City in Mount Hampden, just outside Harare, as construction gains momentum.
Roads, sewer systems, and water reticulation infrastructure are nearing completion, while several villas are at various stages of construction, as the country prepares for an unprecedented real estate development boom.

Speaking during a media tour of the city, Dr Paul Tungwarara, Special Presidential Investment Advisor to the United Arab Emirates and chairperson of Prevail International Group, said the country is poised for great development.
Dr Tungwarara is overseeing the project’s construction works.
“Currently, we are doing the infrastructure, which is the roads, water, and the sewer system,” he said.
“By March 2025, 50 villas should be done. When we finish that, we go to another phase that includes shopping malls and the tower project.”
The construction of a musical fountain is also nearing completion and is expected to boost domestic tourism.

A musical fountain, also known as a dancing fountain, is a decorative fountain that uses water, colour, and music to create an entertaining show.
Dr Tungwarara said the dancing fountain is another indication that the country is ready for big things.
“If you remember, at the groundbreaking ceremony, the President said we want to bring Dubai here, which is exactly what we are doing. What you are seeing there is called dancing waters, whereby the water will be dancing according to the tune of the music,” he said.
The overall development is estimated at nearly US$500 million.
