Songstress Cynthia Mare is expected to delight her fans tomorrow at Misty’s in Newlands as she celebrates her NAMA glory.
The delectable Cynthia was voted Best Female Artiste at the NAMA awards thereby confirming her status as one of the talented voices to emerge in Zimbabwe after making it big at Zimbabwe Music Awards last year.
Cynthia, who sings about love, has managed to carve a niche in the cut-throat music industry and is rated among the some of the most successful local female artistes.
Drawing much from the social and life of ordinary people, Cynthia has endeared herself to mature audiences and appealed to corporates including a mega endorsements deals from mobile company G-Tel.
She has also worked with a number of charities where she performs for the benefit of the underprivileged members of society.
Currently, Cynthia is riding high with the chart-topping hit “Moto Ngaubvire” which is receiving generous airplay.
Her first single “Amai” won the hearts of many listeners as it was inspired by her life experience.
The song was dedicated to her late mother who she says was a great inspiration.
What a better way to celebrate her success than to throw a huge party at Misty’s, a venue for discerning music lovers.
The party continues at the venue on Saturday with a double bill featuring Maisha, a lovely jazz-Latin group of seasoned musicians.
The group was discovered by Penny Yon, a passionate music promoter who has worked with several groups, both established and upcoming.
Though Penny’s contribution to the development of the local music industry is often underrated her talent is evidenced by the groups she has worked with.
Up next to rock the stage will be the soulful Patience Musa.
Patience is one of the talented voices whose music appeals to mature listeners. She has a penchant of singing cover versions and turning them her own.
