It seems the local Gospel music market is having a feast on the genre’s various growing gatherings that started during the festive season and continue to take place even into the new year. One show that has delivered the spirit of healing and deliverance in Bulawayo is musician Daboe Ncube’s homecoming event which was held at a local venue at the weekend.

The South Africa-based Gospel musician seems to have struck the right chords as his show lived up to its billing, attracting hundreds of Gospel music lovers as they gathered to praise and worship the Lord for the good He did last year, also praying to seek more guidance from Him in 2026.

Trusted to opening the stage was local group Psalms Revealed as they set the tone high with two powerful, vibrant songs which connected those in attendance with God in spirit. The group, which has featured on a number of local Gospel shows, proved they are fit to share the stage with the genre’s top performers, as their musical prowess is too mature for a group starting up.

Seasoned Gospel diva Mai Mwamuka was next on stage after Psalms Revealed, as her worship maturity presented an opportunity for massive prayer, as worshippers used her set to pray more to the Almighty, making the show a gathering of thanksgiving and a platform to seek guidance from God.

The man of the moment, Daboe Ncube, took the microphone from Mai Mwamuka as he presented a splendid performance altogether. He belted out songs from his latest offering and some of his unreleased tracks, affording those in attendance a chance of listening to his new sound.

After Ncube, saxophonist Vuyo Sax entered the stage, and he managed to raise the bar much higher as he performed a number of cover songs including Holy Spirit, Alpha and Omega, among others.

Seasoned performer Lorraine Maplanka was trusted with closing the event, courtesy of her experience and the capacity to calmly control the crowds through her smooth voice. Sets from those who performed on the night were top-notch, providing Gospel lovers with a wide variety of good music and fellowship.

On the sidelines of the show, Daboe Ncube hailed the Bulawayo community for helping him out by showing up at the event, which led to the success. As he puts focus on 2026, Ncube promised to return to Bulawayo again during the course of the year, with a much bigger and better event.

“I would like to honour and give thanks to the Bulawayo people, my family and friends who made it all possible for me to realise my dream through this successful event. I would also like to show some appreciation to Prophetess S Moyo, Dr Musa K Zondo , Dr Mai Mwamuka, Evangelist Bukhosi Sibanda and Christ’s Foundation Ministries, for providing immense support to the fruition of this show.

“To all the artistes who came through, I am grateful, and I would like to thank Life Spring Church for opening the doors for us to host such an amazing show. Before 2026 ends, I promise a much bigger event compared to this one. I am planning to stage another show in Bulawayo, a place that made me who I am,” said Ncube.

The singer promised to release more music and visuals in 2026, so as to spread the word of the Lord through his talent, at the same time providing his followers with quality music to consume. — Follow on X :@mthabisi_mthire
