A 45-YEAR-OLD Beatrice man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Chivhu Regional Magistrates’ Court for raping his 15-year-old daughter.
The court heard that the suspect launched his attack at night some time this year, taking advantage of his wife’s absence to sneak into his daughter’s bedroom, and gagged the vulnerable 15-year-old while she was changing.
The crime came to light in July 2026 after a tip-off led to the interception of text messages between the accused and the victim, prompting a formal police report that resulted in his immediate arrest and prosecution.
In a statement , the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe reaffirmed its commitment to protecting children from sexual abuse and ensuring that individuals who violated positions of trust faced the full force of the law.
