A 50-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested for allegedly killing his daughter, aged five, in unclear circumstances.
He is said to have dumped the body along the Harare-Bulawayo Road, in Mbembesi, in a bid to conceal the offence.
Assistant Commissioner, Paul Nyathi, said police were worried over an increase in cases of parents and guardians beating up their children to death.
This comes after a suspect in the murder, Andrew Jackson, confessed to committing the crime.
This murder comes barely three days after a man in Ruwa allegedly murdered his three-year-old niece for messing her pants.
He is assisting police with investigations.
Said Ass Comm Nyathi:
“Police in Mbembesi arrested Andrew Jackson, aged 50 for killing his daughter, Mary Jackson, aged five years, at Sojini Village, Mbembesi.
“The suspect confessed that he took the minor from her mother and killed her before trying to conceal the heinous act by dumping the body along Harare- Bulawayo Road.”
