SURREY Storm have re-signed Gems captain, Felisitus Kwangwa, for the 2023 Super League season.
After finishing strongly towards the end of 2021, Kwangwa returned home to play in the African Championships and Pent series.
When she returned to England ahead of the 2022 Super League season, Kwangwa made it clear that she was ready to take a starting role in the Surrey Storm team.
In a statement released by the club, Kwangwa expressed delight at being a part of the Surrey Storm family for the new season.
“The goal is always to be crowned champions of the 2023 season and that is what we will strive for,” said Kwangwa.
Surrey Storm head coach, Mikki Austin, said Kwangwa worked tirelessly on her game throughout the season and reaped the rewards in court time.
“She is a relentless tracker with the ability to win the ball when it counts, and I truly believe she will continue to thrive into next season.
“We look forward to seeing what Felisitus can achieve,” said Austin.
Kwangwa captained the Gems to qualification for the 2023 Netball World Cup to be held in Cape Town, South Africa.
It is their second successive Netball World Cup qualification following their debut appearance in Liverpool in 2019.
