A MAGWEGWE man’s slick drug hustle came crashing down in spectacular fashion after cops uncovered dagga and crystal meth stashed in a shiny silver electric jug in an afternoon raid.
Admire Magadzike (27), from New Magwegwe, was lounging on a chair without a care in the world when detectives swooped in, acting on a hot tip that he was hiding dangerous drugs at JP Garage.
The raid, which felt straight out of a crime thriller, took place on 8 July at around 3 PM. The officers pounced, ransacked the house and struck gold: 22 sachets of dagga weighing 82 grams with a street value of ZIG $2 706, all tucked inside an unused electric jug.
To make matters worse, a sachet of crystal meth was also found.
The sleek hiding place didn’t fool the cops, and the drugs told a story that Magadzike couldn’t talk his way out of. When asked to produce legal permits for possessing the substances, he was left speechless, eyes wide as the weight of the situation sank in.
He was hauled before Bulawayo Magistrate Evia Matura, who remanded him in custody until 24 July, pending further proceedings.
Prosecutor Mufaro Ndirayire told the court the evidence was damning, and the tip-off that led to the bust couldn’t have been more precise.
Magadzike’s case now joins a growing list of drug-related arrests in Bulawayo, as authorities tighten the noose on backyard dealers and their creative stash spots.
