DANCERS Association of Zimbabwe (DAZ) president, Harpers Mapimhidze, will celebrate his 50th birthday on March 28 at City Sports Bar.

Mapimhidze, who has worked with over 50 dance groups over the past 20 years, said he was humbled to be celebrating his Golden Jubilee in good health.

“I have seen it all as an entertainment consultant and I have also lost my friends along the way, which still scares me a lot.

“When I reflect on my journey in arts management, I  see the grace of the Lord.

“I have managed several dance groups, even though many people knew me as Beverly’s former manager.

“I do a lot of consultancy work for dance groups as well as grooming them to be professionals.

“I am also one of the people who have been working hard to defend dancers’ rights as well as addressing their welfare.”

He urged dancers to invest in other areas.

“The life of a dancer is as good as that of an athlete whose time will end.

“We should not put all our eggs in one basket but rather we need to think broadly and invest in other areas.

“This could be the reason why most dancers or entertainers are dying poor due to their failure to plan properly.”
