THE Bulawayo Metropolitan Darts Association has suspended all league games for the annual Doubles Legends tournament hosted at Parkview Club on Wednesday night.
The two-day tournament which started yesterday with teams playing round robin formart matches ends tomorrow with the teams playing against each other in the final round knockout stages.
George Dube, one of the organisers of the tournament, said the tournament was for doubles players and they were expecting about 40 teams to participate from the Bulawayo Metropolitan League and additional teams from the legends of the game.
“The tournament is for doubles and we are expecting 40 teams to participate in the tournament plus some of the sport’s legends from the province,” said Dube.
Dube said that team registration fees have been reduced from $3 to $2 and every team should come and enjoy the two-day tournament.
“We have decreased the registration fee to $2, so every team can afford to register,” said Dube.
This evening the teams will compete in a round robin format while on Friday they will be knock out stages.
The tournament is a way to commemorate the legends and celebrate the lives of the darts players and has been going on for the past three years.
Meanwhile, five BMPD league players made the city proud by scooping medals from the just ended Region five Federation Darts Championships the past weekend.
