dates for trials of the Seventh Zone VI Mines Darts Championships to be held at the Oakney Recreational Club at Sun City in South Africa next month have now been set with prospective players expected to fight for places in the local team at the end of this month.Six Zimbabwean sides will be chosen to participate in this year’s event which will run in South Africa from November 20-23. But those seeking places on the tour of duty to South Africa would have to first pass trials scheduled for the Railway Block Community Hall in Shurugwi from October 25-27.
Several players have already confirmed that they will take part in the event which will see six teams taking part in the invitational tournament. The inter-mines darts council secretary-general William Chifundo said they are looking forward to a competitive event.
“We are looking forward to a highly competitive event as everyone is willing to go and represent the country at the Zone VI,” said Chifundo.
Several mines have send in the names of those who will take part in the event and six mines have entered the competition. “The Zone VI will need top players and we are hopeful that the best players will win on the day. The event is an invitational one and every country is entitled to field six teams regardless of gender composition. The date of registration ended on September 26,” said Chifundo.
