Daughter beats up mum over absentee dad

A 22-YEAR-OLD woman from Bulawayo’s Makokoba suburb who is supposedly feeling unloved has resorted to beating up her 44-year-old mother while threatening her with murder as punishment for not telling her why her father was absent in her life.

Racheal Nyathi who reportedly keeps asking her mother Puluki Nyathi where her father is, is also reportedly accusing her of being a prostitute and practising witchcraft.

Fearing that her daughter might live true to her threats of murdering her, Nyathi approached the Bulawayo Civil Court and sought a protection order against her.

In her application Puluki said her daughter was also an alcoholic adding that each time she got drunk she shouted at her with vulgar language. “I am applying for a protection order against my daughter Racheal Nyathi. She is always insulting and beating me up. She is also threatening to kill me.

“She is stealing from me and is also bringing her friends home to drink alcohol. When she is drunk, she then shouts at me using vulgar language, and beats everyone at home including her five-year-old son.

“While shouting at me, she labels me a witch and prostitute. She is also accusing me of killing her father before stating that she will poison me,” complained Puluki.

She begged the court to grant the protection order in her favour saying she was now living in fear of her daughter’s violent behaviour and chilling threats.

In response Racheal didn’t refute her mother’s claims.

She justified her uncouth actions saying: “I am not disputing any of what she said and I am also not opposed to her application. But my request is that I just want her to tell me where or who my father is,” she tersely said.
