She may not be the reigning Miss Face of Africa anymore, but she looked like royalty on her wedding day. Davina Dzambo recently walked down the aisle with her “prince in charming armour” Kevin Muzofa. We spoke to the couple post event to hear how they pulled off a truly high class show.“Our wedding is something we had dreamt of for a long time. We thought of the same colours as we wanted a royal kind of theme, hence the decision to mix a lot of white with elements of gold and purple.

“The flowers — which were in purple, another royal colour, were meant to give guests that memorable reception,” said Davina, who is also an enthusiastic décor and fashion designer.

“While it is not easy to arrange for a wedding, there are, however, some God-sent people who just make it smooth and easy for you. We have been praying hard for this (wedding) to happen and God answered our prayers.

“Most of our service providers were business friends so they really did more of a favour but we should hasten to add that these are our business partners and we cherish their contributions,” chipped in Kevin.

The 200 guests were close friends and family members.

“We wanted to it to be an intimate affair but imbued with a convivial feel. This is one of the main reasons why we opted for Baraza Palace, which is a tranquil place!” Davina said.

She added: “We didn’t go ahead with the traditional fruit cake and we both wanted chocolate and vanilla so we had to merge our favourites into one royal delight.”

Friends and relatives also came in on the preparatory side.

“My gown was designed by a business friend Linda while our bridesmaids were dressed by Designer Closet. Kevin’s tuxedo was something that his brother Steve made sure was available for the occasion while a close acquaintance Sandy provided groomsmen with those grey immaculate suits.

The bridal car was a 2016 Mercedes Benz E-Class.

Davina admits that unabashed romanticism was the order of the day: “Our vows were quite cheesy. We used fairytale lines. Our marriage officer was quite helpful in decoding our messages so it made real sense to the invited guests.”

“We kept staring at each other in the eyes during this defining moment in our lives and for the first time I understood what it meant to be in love forever.

“Today, I still live with this moment like a tattoo in my memory. This is something (wedding) that I urge fellow models to do. There is more bliss in life than going the other wrong route,” said a tearful but happy Davina.

Davina was voted Miss Face of Zimbabwe in year 2014. She is also a television presenter and founder of Davina Cosmetic.

Davina is also a business partner to Inheritance Construction and current Vice President of Feet Finance Foundation as well as owner of Little Feet First Charity Organisation.

Kevin is in the construction field, where he represents Polymer Pavements International and is the CEO of Polyroads Zimbabwe.
