ZANU-PF District Coordinating Committees (DCCs) are an important organ of the ruling party as they help in executing administrative issues at grassroots level.

In an interview in Masvingo after meeting party officials in the province last week, Zanu-PF Second Secretary and Vice-President Cde Kembo Mohadi said it was important for the party to keep abreast of what is happening in   districts.
“They (DCCs) are a very important organ of the party. They are in charge of the administration in the districts of which the provincial executive is not in a position to do so. For instance here we have seven districts, there are seven administrators so we have got people or point persons in each and every district then we are assured that quite a number of people will be reached,” he  said.

Cde Mohadi said one of the challenges the party was facing in Masvingo was mobility especially by the DCCs as they do not have vehicles to reach out to the people. Cde Mohadi said one of the reasons for the visit was to grow the party and to know what the grassroots wanted.

“The purpose of my visit is that I just want to see how our party Zanu- PF is doing. So I am here to see how they work together with the Government and how we can organise it better and also to talk to provinces, hearing from them what challenges they have and what they would want us to assist them with in overcoming those challenges.

Above everything else is also to grow our party. We got to be in touch with the grassroots, to know what the grassroots want. To know what the people themselves even those who are not Zanu- PF, what are their problems,” he said.
