De Chassart to represent Zim

Sports Reporter
GABRIELLE Dumont De Chassart will represent Zimbabwe in the Junior Women sprint event at the ITU World Triathlon Grand Finals in Cozumel, Mexico, in September. Triathlon Zimbabwe confirmed that the Hellenic Academy student will represent the country following her recent fourth place finish at the ATU Triathlon Africa Championships in Bloemfontein in March.

De Chassart secured a slot for Zimbabwe at the World Grand Finals. She was racing as an Under-17 athlete against Under-19 counterparts, a scenario that will be repeated at the World Grand Finals in September.

In addition to her academic studies, De Chassart has continued to train throughout the winter off-season period and as a pre-cursor to her participation at the World Championships she will be travelling to South Africa in August for the Mandela Day Triathlon at Midmar Dam in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
