ZIMBABWE’S top golfer Brendon de Jonge had a good start at the Frys.Com Open on the US PGA Tour as he finished in 31st place at the weekend.The tournament was held at the Silverado Country Club North in Napa, California, from Thursday.
The Frys.com Open which had a prize fund of US$6 million and the Zimbabwean golfer pocketed US$33 300.
De Jonge was part of the strong field of 144 players who were gunning for the US$1,08 million winners’ cheque in his first tournament since the Deutsche Bank Championship in early September.
The event was won by Sang-Moon Bae on 15-under-par with rounds of 66, 69, 65 and 73.
De Jonge was tied with Americans Robert Streb, Cameron Wilson, Scott Pinckney, Charlie Baljan, Jeff Overton and Aaron Baddeley and Jarrord Lyle.
