De Jonge keeps getting better

ZIMBAWE’S PGA Tour contender Brendon de Jonge fired a four-under-par 64 on the final round to finish tied for ninth at the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston-Norton on Sunday.De Jonge went into the final round and had a final score card that read 69-65-69 and 65 for 15-under 268 to walk away with a cheque of US$208 000 for his ninth place finish.

The Zimbabwean finished tied on 12-under with tournament host and Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III and D. J. Trahan Jr.
It was the 32-year-old Zimbabwean’s fourth top 10 finish on the PGA Tour this year and it took his earnings for 2013 alone to US$1 532 524.

The result came largely due to a second round of 65 before going on to tie with Americans Jason Dufner and Roberto Castro and England’s Ian Poulter.

Henrik Stenson won the event on 22-under-par 262 after impressive rounds of 67, 63, 66 and 66. In The Big Easy Tour Micky Hough finished tied on fourth after the two rounds of the ERPM Golf Club. The Zimbabwean was tied with South Afrcans CJ du Plessis, Anton Haig and Jacques Kruyswijk.
