A MEMBER of a local Neighbourhood Watch Committee recently bashed his wife with a baton after she advised him to start taking care of the family.
Alina Midzi exposed Watson Midzi’s brutality at the Harare Civil Court where she applied for a peace order, citing physical abuse.
She told the court her husband also threatened to harm her with a machete.
“I don’t know what to do anymore, he has been abusing me verbally, and physically, since 2006, and this has affected me psychologically.
“Last week Watson would have killed me had it not been for my son who rescued me in my bedroom,” she said. In his response, Watson accepted the application of a peace order.
He denied some of the claims.
“I never insult her in front of the children and I am not chasing her from our matrimonial home, “he said.
Presiding magistrate Sharon Mashavire granted the peace order in Alina’s favour.
