A SECOND freedom bid by Grace Mandisodza, the woman accused of bribing police officers, has hit a brick wall.
Mandisodza made the application at the High Court before Justice Munamato Mutevedzi.
Mandisodza was arrested on February 11 this year on allegations of fraud.
Upon her arrest, she also tried to bribe the arresting officers.
Allegations against Mandisodza are that she had sold a residential stand, belonging to another Harare woman, under false pretence.
She hatched the plan with her co-accused, Shepherd Munemo, who is out on bail.
Munemo was released with the consent of the State.
Mandisodza then approached the court seeking bail on changed circumstances.
“The time frames and the restrictions attaching to ordinary appeals do not apply.
“He or she can join the contestation against the initial refusal with a refusal on changed circumstances.
“I admit that to my knowledge this is an issue which the superior courts in Zimbabwe have not previously dealt with.
“I could not find any authority to that effect,” reads the judgement.
Justice Mutevedzi ruled that Mandisodza’s argument was baseless.
