Highlanders and Herentals head into halftime locked in a goalless stalemate, with Bosso left ruing missed chances after dominating the first half at Barbourfields Stadium.
The home side looked hungrier, but poor decision-making in the final third cost them a lead they arguably deserved.
Herentals almost silenced the Soweto stand early on, with Wilmore Chimbetu forcing a sharp save from Raphael Pitisi inside the opening minutes. Bosso responded through Mafios Chihweta, who narrowly missed with a powerful strike from the edge of the box after a delivery from Malvern Hativagoni.
Chihweta continued to threaten, he skied a curler after being fed by Reason Sibanda and had a dangerous cross later in the half that found no takers.
