Death toll rises in Argentina building blast

argie blastROSARIO. — Rescuers have found three more bodies in the ruins of an apartment building levelled in a gas leak explosion, raising the death toll to 17, officials said yesterday. Four people remain missing after last week’s  thunderous explosion in Rosario, Argentina’s third largest city. A total of 62 were injured and of these, 13 remain hospitalised.

Rescue teams have been combing through the rubble of the building since the blast.

A gas company worker and an aide who had been working in the building right before the blast were initially questioned by a judge but later released. — AFP.
