The initiative, he said, will ensure customers focus on their core business instead of worrying about fixing defective computers and losing software.
“For a customer, if their PC, server or storage breaks down, they usually shift their focus from what is important to fix it. We want to take that thing away from our customers,” he said.
Dell currently has offices in Accra which it uses as a springboard to support its growing customer base. The company intends to spread outside Accra, he said.
The company also plans to outsource some of its business to competent IT firms which would fix its computers and software.
Dell general manager for Southern and Central Africa Steward van Graan said the company planned to fan out to cover most of the continent, adding Ghana was the first country on its expansion roadmap.
“Being a late entrant into the market has given us the opportunity to carefully define our strategy and that strategy is one of enablement of our partners in Ghana. Our approach into Africa is an indirect model and our services model speaks to that.” – CAJ News.
