A 21-year-old man has been dragged to court facing assault charges.

Kelvin Katemera was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi.

Allegations are that sometime this year, Katemera assaulted the complainant before demanding sexual favours.

The court heard that Katemera assaulted the complainant with an iron bar on the head.

The complainant was rushed to the hospital.

It is alleged Katemera stole the complainant’s Huawei phone and fled.

However, Katemera denied all the charges, but the magistrate said:

“So you think, the State and police hate you to an extent?”

Zebedia Bofu appeared for the State.
